September 18th

Server Changes

  • Replaced Beaver_Character_BP_AllColors_C with Beaver_Character_BP_C for real this time

September 17th – Fresh Wipe

Server Changes

  • Center PvP and Scorched Earth PvP have been freshly wiped
  • Center PvP and Scorched Earth PvP are now linked via ARK tribute
    • Players Enabled
    • Dino’s Enabled
    • Items Disabled
  • Changed Center PvP and Scorched Earth PvP IP Addresses
  • Reworked various Rules to promote a healthier PvP environment
  • Raised rates to 25x including Eggs/Hatching/Maturation
  • Raised max tribe members to 10
  • Raised server slots to 64
  • Raised Dino Level to +100 after tame
  • Optimized Doedicurus, Golem, and Brontosaurus farming multipliers to prevent server lag

September 14th

Server Changes

  • Cleared all wild dino’s on Center PvP to get rid of over Mosa spawns and to fix various other spawning issues

September 7th

Server Changes

  • Scorched Earth now has a daytime of 30 minutes, and night of 30 minutes
  • The Center has been rolled back to 6:30pm on September 6th due to an ARK update causing crashes related to Beaver spawns
  • All servers have had their mods vastly optimized

August 26th – Update #2

Server Changes

  • Increased Center PvP server performance significantly
    • Lowered DinoCountMultiplier to 0.65
    • Added nice (Unix) priority to server instance on start (-15)

Server Changes

  • Revamped automatic server update to not update mods not present on the current server
  • Offline Raid Protection is now properly enabled
    • Tribe Alliances no longer function due to Patch v243.0: “Tribe Alliances now disabled in Offline Raid mode (too complex to determine if anyone in an Alliance is around)”
  • Giganotosaurus’ should now spawn 90% less on Center PvP
  • Island PvP server is temporarily shut down as we investigation lag issues

August 17th

Server Changes

  • Arkonia servers will now automatically check for mod & server updates every 15 minutes. When an update is detected, it will give a 10 minute warning to all online players via broadcasts before shutting down, installing all mods and/or ARK server updates, and starting back up.
  • The server backup scripts for Arkonia have been heavily optimized and now backup every 15 minutes into ~3mb tar.gz archives and are stored up to 25GB per server before purging any backups older than 1 week.

Mod Changes

  • PimpMyDinos has been removed from all servers as it is a messy, bloaty mod that is no longer maintained, as well as overpowered in a PvP environment.
    • If you have purchased any PimpMyDino engrams, please ask an admin for a free Mindwipe Tonic

August 15th – The Valhalla Update

Server Changes

  • The Valhalla PvE server is now LIVE! Join at valhalla.arkonia.net:27015
    • Valhalla will run the same mod configuration as The Island PvE

  • Adjusted automatic server restart upon experiencing a fatal crash to wait 15 seconds before starting to avoid potential save corruption

August 13th – The PvP Update

Mod Changes

    • Ask an Admin for a free Mindwipe Tonic
  • Replaced Improved Dino’s with Dino Colors Plus
    • Dino’s tamed before Improved Dino’s was replaced will not be able to mate with new tames from Dino Colors Plus (Sorry!)

Server Changes

  • The PvP server is now LIVE! Join at pvp.arkonia.net:27015
  • PvE server IP has been changed to pve.arkonia.net:27015
  • The PvE and PvP servers will now automatically restart in the event of a fatal crash
  • Updated to ARK v245.986
  • Wolf breeding has been fixed
  • Alpha’s spawning close to structures has been fixed
  • Alpha spawning algorithm has been optimized (less packs of Alpha’s)
  • Campfire’s now remove diseases as intended
  • Campfire’s no longer use coal as a fuel source
  • Campfire’s can no longer be picked up
  • Server slots reduced to 32 for the time being
  • All dinosaurs in the wild have gotten a lot prettier <3

August 4th

Mod Changes

  • Updated to latest version of Platforms Plus
    • Adjusted Wedge & Smithy level requirement and engram point cost for balancing purposes
  • Removed Crystal Lamps until back in town to properly debug
  • Removed various “Skin Mods” that are not yet in use

Server Changes

  • Updated to v245.93 of ARK. WE MUST GO DEEPER!
  • Server restart for performance optimization.
  • Fixed Torch engram glitch bug when using Mindwipe Tonic. Please simply relog to gain your engram back.

Mod Changes

  • Temporarily removed Light Controller mod as newest update causes fatal error. Waiting for new mod update with a fix before re-implementing.
  • Added Crystal Lamps mod.
  • Re-added Extra Large Refrigerator mod back.
